Okay, this post might get a little whiny, but honestly, people have been trampling all over my pet peeves the last few days. So, here is a list. I am probably leaving out a lot... Hopefully some of you guys will have the same pet peeves as I do! That way we can talk about it!
1. When people tap on my shoulder from behind
I hate being touched from behind. It freaks me out! If someone wants my attention, they should go around me and talk to my face. Don't "sneak" up and touch me! Sometimes I know the person is there and it still irritates me! I wish people wouldn't do that!

2. When people sing in the shower
This is probably weird to hear from a vocalist, but I hate listening to people sing in public showers. It irritates me so much; I don't care how great the person's voice is. When I shower or go into the bathroom, I want peace and quiet to think and wind down. Someone's voice piercing through my thoughts is not welcome. Sorry.

3. Humming/whistling (unless part of a song)
This just annoys me. I think it is the unwanted noise factor. Maybe it is just because someone is trying to convey a melody but is doing it under their breath or in a way that they think people won't notice. Well WE DO! Sorry, but unless they are singing a song like "Whistle" or something, I really don't want to hear them humming or whistling quietly down the hallway.

4. When people use my stuff without asking
I am in college now. I have to buy things with my own money. If it is something that runs out and has to be bought again, (ex: food, shampoo, hair-spray) ask me first or don't use it! I am poor! Don't make me buy things for two people! Not cool! When I say ask, that does not mean ask and then use it until it runs out. It means ask and then ask again if you need it again.

5. When someone keeps interrupting you
I am sure you all have had those moments where someone finishes talking, and you go to start talking, but they start babbling again? Or when you are talking and someone blurts in on the middle of your sentence? I hate that. I'm sorry, but did the middle of my sentence interrupt the beginning of yours?

6. When people make fun of filler words/sounds
Let's be honest, just about everyone uses "like" or "um" when speaking. It is a filler word and helps maintain the fluidity of speech. It is not okay to make fun of someone or make them aware that they are doing it (unless they are going for a job interview). It makes people self-conscious and is simply mean. I'm sorry, but everyone uses them. People shouldn't single out others without taking a good look at their own speaking habits.

7. When people read over your shoulder
If I am texting someone, don't read my texts over my shoulder. That is so rude.

8. When someone has their earbuds in but you can still hear their music
Nothing is worse than that tinny sound that happens when you can hear someone's music from outside their earbuds. Plus, it makes me cringe because it is completely destroying their hearing. Turn it down a bit, you will be fine.

9. Throat Clearing
This doesn't count for when you have a cold. I am talking about when people habitually clear their throat. I am a singer and have learned that clearing your throat is horrible for your voice. Don't do it, you don't want to do something bad to your vocal chords and sound like a chain-smoker.

10. When you say an endearing term in a different context and someone answers
One time a puppy ran up to me and I said "Hey, baby!" and this guy said hi in a joking manner back. This happens to me a lot! I really hate it, because it puts me in an awkward position. It doesn't matter if it is a close friend, but most of the time it isn't.

Phew! Feel a lot better now that I talked about that!
