It is three weeks until finals and the end of the semester! Eep! It is scary to think about! There is so much to do! My majors are blowing up in my face at the moment. I am hosting and helping run a German conference this weekend. I also have 8 more recitals to go to before the end of the semester. My jury is in a week (I could faint...) and I have opera auditions in two weeks. I have a choir concert and a band concert coming up, not to mention the scattered test or two in my classes.
The next few weeks will be hell, but I refuse to view it that way.
There is so much opportunity in the next few weeks! I will soon be inducted into a first year national honor society and SAI! I will also be wrapping up my freshmen year of college! I cannot wait to go see all my friends' recitals and see how much they have learned over the years. I can only look forward to when I will be up on that stage doing the same thing.
The German Conference will be a major opportunity to learn more about German and the culture in the areas that it is spoken! I can't wait to meet new people with the same interests as I do! As a moderator, I will be introducing speakers and running Q&A sessions. It will be a little out of my comfort zone, but anything worth doing is. It will definitely be a learning experience!
To be honest, I want to go home desperately, but I will be sad to leave! Two of my favorite teachers are leaving this year to go on to bigger and better things! They are my German teacher and my voice teacher. I will miss my voice teacher a lot. She has helped me grow so much and has supported me and mothered me when I needed it. The University has definitely lost an amazing teacher, and I imagine they will realize that soon enough. My German teacher is amazing and I will miss her and her adorable son. I hope that she is happy in her new job and doesn't forget us! I am dragging out these next three weeks with these wonderful professors. Every second with them makes me a better and more educated individual.
As I start the home stretch towards the end of the year, I am happy, stressed, sad, and excited for the events to come. Busyness can be good if you view it the right way.
What are you doing in these last few weeks of school?
