Today is the day that my majors collide! It isn't necessary a bad thing, but I will definitely be all over the place! I am hosting and moderating for the German conference, so I will be everywhere at once for that. I also have a concert tonight, which means that I will have an hour and a half dress rehearsal before the concert. I feel bad for my guest! I won't be there to talk to her or give her a tour around the school. What a host I am, right? It'll all turn out okay in the end though.
Tomorrow, I will be introducing three guest speakers at the conference at the lovely time of 9:15. After that, I will be leading a Q&A session. All of this will be in German of course. Later I will be going to the conference's dinner. Of course, I will be attending recitals in between all of these conference events. I will definitely not be bored!
Although the idea of it all stresses me out a bit, it will definitely be a good opportunity to practice speaking German and get used to the business that can come with college and the world beyond. Luckily, there will be people there to support me and I won't be in charge of things for too long. It is all mostly about being present (except for the moderating thing, but that will not be long).
Naturally, I will have to weave in time for homework. I find that the best way to do this is to take my homework with me and do it whoever I have a few minutes here and there. Even the busiest of schedules has a bit of extra time. I am choosing to be optimistic about the whole thing.
Next week is juries! I will have to sing for the voice faculty at 6 on Monday. I am a bit nervous, but I have done it before. It shouldn't be as difficult this time. My voice teacher is amazing, so I am sure that I will do fine. The hardest part about it, though, is finding the time to practice for it this weekend. It will take some clever planning to fit in the half to full hour that I need. It will turn out though; I have all my pieces memorized. At this point it is all about building confidence.
How is life treating you? Are you busy this weekend too?
