(Favorite Book in series: Uglies)
These books are about a girl named Tally Youngblood who lives in a future society that is entirely different from ours. At the age of 16, everyone goes through a surgery that makes them insanely pretty. These books are amazing and filled with themes that can be easily applied to the present day. There are times that you want to throw the book at the wall, and I love it for that.
The Time Traveler's Wife is about a man with a rare genetic disorder that causes him to accidentally travel in time when he is stressed. The book is about his relationship with his wife and the difficulties that both of them must face because of his disorder. This book is brilliant on so many levels. It is one of the only ways of looking at time travel that truly makes sense. The time travel paradox is excellently handled in this novel. It is simply fascinating.
This book was actually one of my assignments for social studies in middle school. I never thought that I would like the books that I read at school, but this one made it into my favorite book list. It is amazing. The book takes place in Nazi Germany and is about the life of a girl whose mother was taken away. The mother had to give up the children to foster care. The story is written from the point of view of Death. If that doesn't hint at how clever and unique the book is, I don't know what would. It is absolutely brilliant.

I better not have to explain this one...

Last but not least, the Russell Series! These are my favorite books of all time. Laurie R. King is a genius and my favorite author. I can't go very long without coming back to these books. It is an addiction really. The Russell series is about a brilliant young girl named Mary Russell and her relationship with the 60-year-old Sherlock Holmes. The pair of them solve mysteries together. Their partnership is perfect. You absolutely must read them. The next book in the series is coming out on February 17th! I'm so excited!
