Plot Summary: "Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley's mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school." - Written by Pixar

My Thoughts: To be honest, I was impressed with this one. I love animated movies, but I thought that this one wouldn’t be very good. Thankfully, I was proven wrong! Inside Out was far better thought out than I had expected, and it gave me an interesting new way to personify the inner workings of the mind. The ending made a lot of sense to me, despite never having the same experience as the child in the film. If I had any criticism, it would have to be with the personified emotions. I thought it was strange that the representations of the emotions could also feel other emotions. For example, Joy could feel sad. Other than that, I thought the film was well done.

Verdict: See it in theaters!

Plot Summary: "Jurassic World has been running with great success for more than a decade in the wake of the disaster that haunted the island 22 years ago. The park's geneticists have once again broken scientific and ethical boundaries in order to raise attendance for the park, now experiencing a decline in happy customers. Convinced that the new attraction will bring in many more people, but having crossed the line once again, the results may be devastating."
-Written by Ed Morales

My Thoughts: Jurassic World was all right, but I must admit that I was a bit disappointed. I went into the movie ready to compare it with the Jurassic Park movies, which was probably not a good idea. The feeling is completely different. The plot was decent, but I couldn’t help but think how incredibly stupid the characters could be at times. I also thought that some of the animal behaviors didn’t make sense. (Yes, I know that they are dinosaurs, but a lot of animal behaviors don’t really change over time.) For example, a group does not change alphas at the change of a hat. All that aside, it was fun to watch.

Verdict: Wait 'til the cheap theater.
